Activists under Attack

Don’t know if any of you have been following the twitter war on AS this week.  So Allison Pearson in the Telegraph wrote the following article I’m sure some of you will have seen: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/9143449/Do-any-of-us-however-ill-have-the-right-to-die.html#disqus_thread  Then there’s a comedian called Doug Stanhope (American) who’s currently touring and who’s chosen to attack Allison and her article in his current stage show – here’s a review of that show:  http://www.chortle.co.uk/comics/d/622/doug_stanhope/review  and there’s been a back and forth twitter exchange between the two this week.   The Independent has now published an article written by British comedian and disabled activist Laurence Clarke: http://blogs.independent.co.uk/2012/03/23/there-are-two-sides-to-the-right-to-die-debate/  Both Laurence and Allison have come under personalised and vitriolic attacks for suggesting that there’s another side to arguement. See what you think and thanks to Liz Carr for bringing this to our attention.
